When 2025 began, as we had remained dormant on the blog, a few images online seemed to present a few sets that were either planned for 2024, delayed, planned for 2025, or possibly canceled. Despite the unknown future of these two, it's still interesting to take a peek at what's initially planned with the unfinished packed parts and prototypes using multicolored figures.
Each Fireteam features a flag, multiple weapons, a crate, and multiple different Spartans within the red and blue themes. Under the images below, we'll discuss and speculate, so continue to read further along. Special thanks to Ok-Giraffe-2145 on Reddit, True_Savage on reddit, and el_bloque_del_saber on instagram.
CONTINUE for more.
First pack, Fireteam Ruby. The flag shows the Block poster matching the UNSC Arctic Burn Wasp above the figures. It's hard to see because of the glare, but we can see a Pulse Carbine in crimson, a Sidekick Pistol, a Commando Rifle, a Hydra, various Frag Granades, a few smaller pieces, and the all-important orange cone.
The UNSC Spartan Mk VII is seen with a dark red undersuit and grey armor over a female torso. The chest piece is carried over from Multiplayer Mayhem, and as a bonus, there's gold on the ammo, gold for the visor, and a metallic peach for the chin.
The UNSC Spartan Stormfall was first introduced in Multiplayer Mayhem, so it would be wonderful to get it in a smaller, cheaper, and easier to obtain pack. It's got gunmetal for the chest cover and head, a robotic arm still reused from the Terminator sets, but the best part, it's PINK!
Lastly for the pack, the UNSC Spartan Firefall. Again, used originally in the Multiplayer Mayhem set, but also added to the UNSC Arctic Burn Wasp, this has an Iron Man theme deco with the gold matching the visor. Anyone else getting a Lunar New Year vibe from this?
The second set is Fireteam Cobalt. Again with four figures, this is also meant to include a flag, but the matching one or green indicates this is simply for a presentation concept or incomplete look. This has the Pulse Carbine now in purple, the Ravager, a Plasma Pistol, and like the Modular Operations Center which release is still unclear this set includes the new Skewer weapon. There's also two blades and two Pulse Grenades packed.
I've always had a thing for Cyan figures, and I'm glad it continues with the UNSC Spartan Grenadier. Yes, it has a robot leg from the Terminator line, but it's better than having a fixed elbow. There's gold for the ammo belt, and silver markings on the chest and helmet.
Demarcation Media just did a flip. The UNSC Spartan SPI is the unluckiest figure of the bunch, considering every set its planned to be used in seems to just mysteriously disappear into the unknown. This one simply has blue shoulders and metallic blue for the visor.
If we got a basic UNSC Spartan Mk VI in Fireteam Ruby, why not match it with Fireteam Cobalt. This blue version features the same deco, perfect for those put off by the transparent ones in the Halo 2 Character Pack.
Last but not least, we got the UNSC Spartan Recon with the Reach style armor. Reminds me of the Grenadier Armor Pack, this one has a paint for the torso including the fashionable net, and black markings.
Another prototype shown was certainly a scrappy, put together concept of what could be, featuring prototype Spartans in multiple colors. This is pretty common for toy companies preparing to make new figures and sets down the road.
However, the back of the box shows everything coming together with all the Spartans, most of the weapons at least, the included crates, and even the flags, showing what was planned for Cobalt. What are your thoughts? Do you hope these see the light of day? Let us know. Thanks for reading.
